Summer League Rules

• We will follow World Curling Rules. We will NOT be playing the no tick rule.
• All participants must follow curling etiquette and be courteous to other players. This means keeping up pace of play and standing in the appropriate spot when the other team is shooting. 
• Games will start promptly at 6. The last end shall start no later than 7:45.
  • Players may take a couple practice slides but no practices shots.
• To determine hammer: Flip a coin, not a slider.
• Each team should select a captain. The captain will be the point person for the team and is in charge of reaching out to the Sub Manager about securing spare
• The captain of the winning team should post the score (and rock colors) to the Bench App chat soon after the game.
• The best record at the end of the season wins the league. Tiebreaker is head-to-head.

Attendance

We are using the free version of bench app. We have decided that the free version will work better for our small league as we can have a league wide chat, we just won’t be able to track individual games teams or scores. Those will be handled on separate document linked above.

The game notes will tell you which teams are playing each week.

Here’s how it will work: Each week players from all 4 teams playing should mark IN or OUT to the Summer season games. Only mark IN if your team is scheduled to play. Bye week players should only mark OUT if they are not available to spare. Anyone not marked IN by Wednesday will be considered out and a spare will take their place. If you are on a bye week or a non-league player and would like to spare, please join the waitlist for any/all games that you are available. The Spare Manager will select spares as needed.

We anticipate having a need for spares most weeks but there are no guarantees.

Spare spots will be filled in the following order:
1) Instructional Leaguers who did not get into the summer league.
2) Players on bye week 
3) Players who have participated in drop-ins regularly.

Non-leaguers should pay a spare fee ($20) directly to the person they are replacing. Both parties should work that out between them. In-league spares do not need to pay any additional fee.

Alex Potter is the Spare Manager. She will be selecting who gets to play what games, so be nice to her. Bribes are welcome.
